About Us

GreatCents is an innovative educational platform founded by Blake Teichmeier, a Grand Island public school teacher and the 2026 Nebraska Economic Educator of the Year.

Dedicated to helping kids in Grades 4–8 connect ''Mind, Money & Life Skills,'' GreatCents provides engaging books, ready-to-use lessons, and hands-on classroom resources. By bridging financial literacy with social-emotional learning (SEL), interactive tools like the ''My Economy'' classroom system, the ''Galactic Growth'' book series, and ''GreatCentsopoly'' teach students about earning, budgeting, managing stress, and responsible decision-making.

Winner of the 2025 Grand Island Big Idea contest, GreatCents empowers teachers, homeschoolers, and parents with practical, story-driven materials to help students build a strong, confident financial future.
