About Us

The Original Prairie Gold Seasoning has been by The Meat Shoppe, Inc, for over 40 years. The Meat Shoppe was an on- and off-premise Caterer, started by Rick and Judy Keller in 1984.The Meat Shoppe hand makes The Original Prairie Gold Seasoning, mixing 10 Specific
ingredients, and then hand filling each bottle in a licensed, and inspected facility. Rick and Judy retired from the Catering side in 2024,
continuing to sell The Original Prairie Gold Seasoning and the Poppy Seed Dressing, made famous on the Strawberry Spinach Salad!
The largest catering event We catered was the 2014 Cattleman's Ball, Nebraska's largest Cancer Society fundraiser. The Meat Shoppe
served 3750 Rib Eye Steaks and all the trimmings! Hundreds of thousands of steaks have been seasoned, and cooked to perfection, using The Original Prairie Gold Seasoning, making the best steaks ever eaten! This seasoning enhances the natural flavor of the item being cooked,
such as Turkey, Fish, Roast and, of course, Steaks! A Grow Nebraska member!
